Calming Swing Wrap
Our stretchy nylon swing wrap is ideal for children with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Conditions, anxiety or low muscle tone. It's most commonly used as a calming tool for children that need more deep pressure and movement input than others. It can also be used as an alerting tool, and encourages exercise and movement. As children climb in, stretch out and move around inside the swing, they develop body awareness, balance, motor planning and spatial skills.

Compared to other swings, the stretchy, heavy-duty fabric provides a sensory and visual retreat as it wraps around, whilst providing sensory pressure all over. It's a fun, private space where a child can either sit or bounce down to bounce, swing, spin or just stay motionless while enjoying the pressure.

The smooth and strong nylon fabric that is a bit stretchy - similar to lycra. The hanging length is adjustable and the swing can be hung from one or two hanging points.

We especially like the Sensory Swing Wrap because of it's versatility:

• Encourages full body flexion
• Allows for prone extension and various body positions in the swing
• Provides deep pressure touch and proprioceptive input the entire time the child is in the swing

Calming Swing Ceiling Anchor Plate Kit
Our Ceiling Anchor Plate Kits are designed to have a very sturdy hold in concrete or brick (with 4 x sleeve anchor expansion bolts) and in wood or plasterboard (with 4 x wood screws), for installing your Calming Swing Wrap into your ceiling.

They are ideal for those wanting something more solid than a screw hook (into wood or gyprock), or who have a ceiling made of concrete or brick.

NOTE: due to the nature of the material and being used by children, some tiny holes may appear after use however in our experience these do not grow in size on their own (without little fingers spreading them) and do not affect the use of the swing)

Calming Swing Ceiling Anchor Plate Kit

DETAILS

• Available as a single kit: for installing your swing wrap from a single point (takes up less space and is ideal for more compression, hiding in it like a cocoon, spinning and gentle swinging)
• Available as a pair of two kits (save $): for installing your swing wrap from two anchor points (ideal for slightly bigger swinging motion) or installing two swings in your sensory space
• The daisy chain strap is approx. 110cm long with multiple hanging points. The strap will come down approximately 120cm from the hanging point (including the 10cm for the plate and carabiner).
• The hanging point will need to be a suitable height to match with your swing height. If it s too high, you'll need to add something to make up the distance.

Calming Swing Wrap

CARE:

• Suitable for indoors or outdoors but we recommend you store swing away after
  each use, out of direct UV light
• Hand wash only & can be tumble dried on low heat, or line dried
• Take care that swing is not near any sharp, protruding or rough objects or surfaces that could damage the material (such as concrete, nearby foliage or
  nearby furniture corners)
• Take care that user doesn't have anything sharp or rough on them (eg. velcro, jewellery, hair accessories, sharp fingernails or sharp / rough toys)
  

SAFETY:

• ages 3+ (due to suffocation risk for those under 3)
• use with close adult supervision
• capacity = 100kg
• only install swing on anchor plate, beam, swing stand, swing set or strong tree branch (eg. we do not recommend installing it on pod chair stands due to a risk of over turning)
• do not hang too high off the ground (no more than 30cm once user is in swing) & have an adult test the swing setup first to ensure it is safe and at the correct height, and to ensure that the child isn't the first person to use the swing and risk being hurt
  at the beginning of each session an adult should always ensure there is a soft surface underneath, check all fabric, carabiners and fittings, making sure the setup is strong and undamaged (replace defective parts)
• an adult should always make sure the child can get in and out safely, use the swing appropriately, and has full control of their body
  the intention is for one person at a time, but up to two people may be okay provided they weigh less than 100kg
• it is important for adults to instruct children NOT to:
  - walk close to, in front of, behind, or between moving items when in use
  - get on or off the swing while it is in motion
  - attach additional items to the swing
  - wear a bicycle or sport helmet while on the swing
  - or stand in the swing (distributed weight is better e.g. sitting or lying)

SAFETY

• Professional installation suggested
• The intended installation area should be checked for suitability and strength
• Do not install the plate too close to the edge of a beam (risk of splitting)
• Drill pilot holes first to help avoid splitting
• If installing a swinging swing (two anchor plates), then you ll want to consider keeping a clear area around the hanging point eg. away from walls, protruding objects etc.
• Install over a soft surface recommended
• Adult should hang the Swing Wrap onto the carabiners and test it before a child uses it for the first time
• Do not use without adult supervision
• Maximum weight should not exceed 100kg per kit
