• for indoor use, if the stand is sliding or moving around too much, then we recommend adding some Gazebo Sand Bags (can be purchased from Bunnings etc.) to the base of the stand to make it more stable and secure.

This is a combo including our Calming Swing Wrap and a Calming Swing Stand.

Calming Swing Wrap
The use of a stretchy nylon swing is ideal for children with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Conditions, anxiety or low muscle tone. It's most commonly used as a calming tool for children that need more deep pressure and movement input than others. It can also be used as an alerting tool, and encourages exercise and movement. As children climb in, stretch out and move around inside the swing, they develop body awareness, balance, motor planning and spatial skills.

Compared to other swings, the stretchy, heavy-duty fabric provides a sensory and visual retreat as it wraps around, whilst providing sensory pressure all over. It's a fun, private space where a child can either lie down or sit, bounce, swing, spin or just stay motionless while enjoying the pressure.

The smooth and strong nylon fabric that is a bit stretchy - similar to lycra. The hanging length is adjustable and the swing can be hung from one or two hanging points.

We especially like the Sensory Swing Wrap because of it's versatility:

• Encourages full body flexion
• Allows for prone extension and various body positions in the swing
• Provides deep pressure touch and proprioceptive input the entire time the child is in the swing
• Can serve as as a sensory retreat (a quiet space to hide and self-soothe)
• The texture of the swing is tolerated well and often very soothing
• Helps with developing body awareness, balance and motor planning skills
• And of course provides vestibular (movement) input when swinging

Calming Swing Stand
Our Swing Stand comes in a box, is easy to assemble, is suitable for inside and outside use, and has a wide and stable based (compared to other pod-swing stand and the like).

It's great for families that cannot, or do not want to install ceiling bolts or plates, or do not have an exposed beam to hang straps over.

For installation outside, please consider buying some Spiral Pegs for securing it to the ground.

Calming Swing Wrap

CARE:

• Suitable for indoors or outdoors but we recommend you store swing away after each use, out of direct UV light
• Hand wash only & can be tumble dried on low heat, or line dried
• Take care that swing is not near any sharp, protruding or rough objects or surfaces that could damage the material (such as concrete, nearby foliage or nearby furniture corners)
• Take care that user doesn't have anything sharp or rough on them (eg. velcro, jewellery, hair accessories, sharp fingernails or sharp / rough toys)

SAFETY:

• Ages 3+ (due to suffocation risk for those under 3)
• Use with close adult supervision
• Capacity = 100kg
• Only install swing on anchor plate, beam, swing stand, swing set or strong tree branch (eg. we do not recommend installing it on pod chair stands due to a risk of over turning)
• Do not hang too high off the ground (no more than 30cm once user is in swing) & have an adult test the swing setup first to ensure it is safe and at the correct height, and to ensure that the child isn't the first person to use the swing and risk being hurt
  at the beginning of each session an adult should always ensure there is a soft surface underneath, check all fabric, carabiners and fittings, making sure the setup is strong and undamaged (replace defective parts)
• An adult should always make sure the child can get in and out safely, use the swing appropriately, and has full control of their body
  the intention is for one person at a time, but up to two people may be okay provided they weigh less than 100kg
• It is important for adults to instruct children NOT to:
  - walk close to, in front of, behind, or between moving items when in use
  - get on or off the swing while it is in motion
  - attach additional items to the swing
  - wear a bicycle or sport helmet while on the swing
  - or stand in the swing (distributed weight is better eg. sitting or lying)

Calming Swing Stand

CARE:

• Can it be used outdoors?
  If the Swing Stand is being used outdoors we would recommend that it is covered but with a few important considerations:
  
  Stand: The frame is powder-coated, which makes it weather resistant. That said, it’s still best to give it some protection. The nuts and bolts are zinc-plated steel, so if left exposed to the Aussie weather for long periods, they will eventually rust. We recommend keeping the stand under a patio or undercover area for better protection. The main reason we offer this stand is to give families an easy indoor option that doesn’t require mounting anything into the ceiling.
  
• Swing Wrap: The wrap itself can be used outside, but it shouldn’t be left out in the weather. Prolonged UV exposure, dirt, and rain will cause the fabric to fade and break down more quickly. To keep it in good condition, simply unclip it after each use (the carabiners make this easy) and store it out of direct sunlight and weather.
  
  This way you get the benefits of outdoor play and keep your swing lasting longer.
